The U.S.A. top law enforcement officers have sent public letters to Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Doug McMillon, Jim Buckmaster and Scott Schenkel.

Their message, dated March 25, calls the e-commerce moguls to stop price gouging on their respective businesses: Amazon, Facebook, Walmart, Craigslist and eBay.

The letters demand to quit taking advantage of the nation, which is currently economically and morally sensitive thanks to COVID-19.

It then presents several examples. This includes a 50% price spike in facemasks and antibacterial products and bottles of sanitizing gel costing ten times their normal price on those online platforms.

“We will continue to […] investigate and prosecute the sellers who engage in price gouging”, warn the 33 attorneys general. They are expecting to receive responses from the CEO recipients.
