The U.S.A. top law enforcement officers have sent public letters to Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Doug McMillon, Jim Buckmaster and Scott Schenkel.
Their message, dated March 25, asks the e-commerce moguls to eliminate price gouging on their respective companies, such as Amazon and Facebook, among others.
The messages demand to quit taking advantage of the nation, which is currently economically and morally sensitive thanks to coronavirus.
It then presents several examples. This includes a 50% price spike in facemasks and antibacterial products and bottles of sanitizing gel costing ten times their standard cost on those web platforms.
“We will continue to […] investigate and prosecute the sellers who engage in price gouging”, warn the more than thirty attorneys general. They are expecting to receive responses from the CEO recipients.
