Devastating news arrived from the state of Maryland, where remains of Maeve Kennedy Townsend McKean’s have been retrieved after a 5-day search in Chesapeake Bay. Her child, Gideon, still hasn’t been located.

Maeve, the grandniece of John F. Kennedy, was last spotted with her son on April 2nd in their canoe. According to the witness who alerted the police, she and little Gideon were trying to catch a floating ball, but the wind was too intense. The vessel started to lose control.

Despite not being far from the property of Maeve’s mother Kathleen, they never made it back. Their vessel was discovered 3 hours later, upturned and empty.

The Dive and Rescue team was able to locate Maeve’s body by using sonar technology. She ended up being 25 feet underwater, 2.5 miles from the house.

The search for 8-year-old Gideon still continues.
