Foreign students who weren’t enrolled in the US universities before March 9th and intend to receive their education online have very slim chances to get visas, says ICE.

The agency has issued a new directive for the US colleges, detailing the guidelines for the “nonimmigrant” freshmen who are likely to choose the remote method of studying since the COVID-19 pandemic is still active. They will not receive their Form I-20 and therefore will not be able to apply for student visas.

Numerous colleges and universities all over the country have already responded with backlash. Many of them addressed their abroad first-year students, saying that they will be happily accepted to campuses when the restrictions are lifted.
